  • It’s time for our Annual meeting. Due to the CoronaVirus health concerns, the meeting will be held via conference call on Thursday, January 21, 2021. If one or more homeowners responds to this email expressing interest in participating, we will hold the general meeting via teleconference at 7:00pm. If we do not receive any interest in the call-in HOA meeting, we will simply send out the minutes to everyone. Deadline to reply is: Tuesday, 1/19/21. The Agenda for the HOA meeting is here.

  • What is the HOA?

Homeowners' associations (HOAs) are common in many new, single-family housing developments, as well as in condominium and townhouse complexes. An HOA is the governing body of the development or complex, usually comprising homeowners who have volunteered to serve on the HOA board.

When you buy a property governed by a homeowners' association, you automatically become a member of the association. You don't have the choice of not joining. The Board of Directors is elected by the homeowners, or as otherwise specified in your HOA bylaws. The Board of Directors' responsibility is operating the HOA on behalf of the property owners. The Board of Directors will implement policies, standards, procedures, programs, and develop the annual budget for their community.

  • What are the primary requirements of the covenants?

Many HOAs have established rules and regulations that have been adopted by the Board of Directors. The rules and regulations are established to provide direction to the property owners in regard to parking, pets, pool use, etc. HOA may also have specific guidelines set up for architectural improvements. Architectural improvements include, but are not limited to: patio covers, decks, landscaping, and exterior color changes. These rules are set up to maintain the aesthetic value and integrity of your community, and to protect the market value of your investment. Violations of these rules may result in action by the Board of Directors, which can include fines assessed to the property owners. In addition, exterior improvements or changes that are completed without prior approval by the Board of Directors, may require the property owner to remove or correct the alteration and/or be fined for the violation(s).
